User testing part 3 + Micro copy + Meeting with Hezi

May 1-13

After the last user testing we made we understand that we needto create new onboarding in order to help new users understand better what are the steps. In addition we talk with Stav moran Leshem. an expert in micro-copy and she help us understand better how we want to talk with our user (tones and volume). We understand the we want that the app will be friendly and approch more with the text to 18-35 age.

for example we add toast in the "video" screen so if theuser taps on the "Skip" button we display a toast of "Ok.. We feel you" - show he user in a nice way that we understand the video is not what he was looking for.

You can see here our prototype: https://p1lcw1.axshare.com/

in addition we change the home page to check box list but we understand from the feedbacks and user testing we made that this sulotion is still not clear.

This week we met (on ZOOM , of course) with Hezi Taniani, a UX expert. The meeting was scheduled to last about a half an hour, but we talked and talked, and without noticing it took almost two hours. Hezi has contributed a lot to us from his experience and perspective, giving us tips for improvement and some points to consider. At the beginning of the session, we told Hezi about our product, our target audience, and their needs. Then, Hezi shared his screen and performed a usability test on the latest version of our prototype. After the usability text, Hezi went over every screen and screen and over every element in our app, asking us to better explain the needs of our users, the context of use, and the experience we want to give our users. During the conversation, we made these things clearer. On interface level, Hezi offered us several things to improve the user experience and adapt to the desired context. For example, Hezi said our core idea is based primarily on the immediacy of use. There is no time for the on-boarding process and long registration that may delay our user. Hezi wants us to try to postpone signing up for a later time (maybe just after watching the videos?) So that there will be no abandonment at the time of signing up. In addition, Hezi suggested integrating the time-setting process and selecting the topics into one screen, due to the simplicity of the two processes, in a way that would not create much on-screen load. To make this possible, Hezi suggested giving up the drop down list and switching to small labels. Hezi suggested that we go from set exact time to select time range, but we're not sure it fits in the MVP experience. Additional interface-level tips were to make a distinction between the SKIP button on the player screen and the likes and sharing buttons due to his different role we should highlight and enlarge it. Hezi believes we need a bottom navigation bar that will allow the user to switch between different sections, player screen, home page, and favorite videos, or history. One of the issues Hezi has come up with and we need to think about is how to encourage users over time and give them a good feel for spending their time on quality viewing. Hezi wants us to strengthen the matter in some way, so that people will want to use and feel rewarded for their choice to use our app and not YouTube, Facebook or Instagram. We have a lot to improve, and a lot to think about. This week we will make prototype changes and conduct additional usability tests to check what works and what doesn't.
