Speed mentoring and video production

This week we did a speed mentoring with Udi Salant and Oren Zuckerman (we talked to Efrat Solomon, the graphic designer, last week). We received very good responses from Udi, UX Expert, about the look of the prototype and generally about the current version of the app.

Oren Zuckerman asked us a lot of questions that require us to think about future versions, such as how to give a better sense of personalization to the user when he choosing the topics. Oren thinks we should give more value to the user personally, and make him feel the app offers him topics according to his mood, context, location and time he is in. At the moment we think it would be difficult for us to include such features in MVP, but of course these are things we will need to consider later.

On Sunday we held a video session where we discussed the concept of the videos we should create. The first video will describe the process we went through, and will include images and texts from all stages. Beginning with the need recognition phase, market research, brainstorming, Posticks, the flow, wireframes, the semester-ending presentation, the pivot we made, wireframes, user testing, new wireframes, and graphic design.

The second video will describe our product and what it does, through the need and pain we identified. We decided to make an animated video that would start with an Instagram screen scrolling endlessly, and then introduce our solution to this situation. We will display Yzing's main flow: setting time and topics and watching videos, to make the user's time count. At the end there will be a glimpse into the back stage of the app - technical details we used to develop the product.
